[pounds sterling]7.5m to spur alumni giving

The government has announced GBP7.5 million in grants over three years for 27 English academic institutions to help start fundraising activities. Universities must match funding of up to GBP125,000 per year from the government to boost efforts to raise money from alumni and other donors.
